Modena Sports Hall is dedicated to Giuseppe Panini, who died in October 1996.

Volley as a sport – not just in Modena – owes a lot to this great man who from 1968 to 1993 dedicated 25 years of his life to Volleyball cause with passion and sacrifices.

Established in 1985 and inaugurated by four consecutive championships by mythical team Panini Modena, PalaPanini has a capacity of 5211 seats, divided into 2 floors. Playfield floor contains eight retractile tribunes for total 1500 seats, while top floor contains about 3700 seats. The visual is excellent from any seat.

For journalists, about 100 seats are reserved along shorter playfield sides, apart from a central tribune connected to ISDN and ADSL wireless phone lines. Moreover, two press rooms for interviews at the end of the matches and articles writing by journalists are available. VIP Tribune, placed in front of the first referee, is distinguished by blue lined chairs and is reserved to sponsors and accredited people; near VIP tribune there is a catering room with a rich buffet. Moreover, inside the Sports Hall there is a wide and well fitted weight room and a control room from which it is possible to manage advertising spaces, like widescreens placed besides points boards.

PalaPanini also has an excellent acoustics: therefore, both before and after the match and during time-outs, the audience has the possibility to listen to excellent music, selected by our staff from central tribune. Inside the Sports Hall are Modena Volley offices and female team offices. In the external perimeter there are tennistable, fencing, judo, martial arts training halls. As a completion, one of Sports Hall wings contains a brand new sports medicine center, fitted with specialistic devices for sporting medical visits.

PalaPanini Sports Hall is easily reachable from Modena ring road and precisely:

  • from A1 highway – Bologna exit Modena Sud, then turn right for 7 km up to ring road crossing, at this point turn right again. After about 1 km (after crossing with via Emilia), follow the exit on the right and then turn left following directions for the mall.
  • from A1 highway – Milan/Verona, Modena Nord exit, then turn right following directions for the ring road ("tangenziale") and then the overbridge for entering the ring road with direction Bologna. After about 5 km, take the exit on the right near the mall.

PalaPanini, near the "I Portali" mall, is surrounded by wide parking lots where it is easy to find available a place for your car.
